APROVED PRIOR LEARNING (APL)

Approved Prior Learning (APL) may allow students exemptions from some modules or module requirements.  In some cases this can allow direct entry into Year 2 of the course.  Please read the APL policy document for full details

ASSESSMENT

Our assessment practice uses grades. A key benefit of grade-based assessment (GBA) is that grades and associated descriptors help you to track your development on each module as well as monitor overall progress on the journey to your award.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Students are expected to attend each taught online weekly session and each day of the Term 3 Study Weeks.

Study Week attendance is compulsory.  The PGDip will not be awarded if a Study Week has not been fully attended.

COMPLAINTS

If you are concerned about an aspect of your learning experience, you can use the complaints procedure for students to bring your concerns to the attention of relevant staff.

EQUALITY & DIVERSITY

We aspire to develop a community of learning for both staff and students in which human relationships are valued and respected.

We adhere to our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policies and procedures.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES & REGULATIONS

The processes used for assessment enable every student to demonstrate the extent to which they have achieved the intended learning outcomes of the award.  This is supported by a set of specific regulations which determine the decisions about student performance and outcome.

FITNESS TO STUDY

This Policy and Procedure will apply in situations where a student's health, wellbeing and/or behaviour are having a detrimental impact on their ability to progress academically and function effectively.

NOTIFICATION OF EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES

A Notification of Extenuating Circumstances (NEC) application allows you to inform us that your academic performance has been affected by circumstances beyond your control.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

A high standard of behaviour and respect towards other students, Academy staff and members of the public is expected of all students whether on campus or not.
